Accordingly, the management of health, safety and environmental issues is an integral part of the Company’s management arrangements and commands equal prominence with operational and commercial considerations in our decision making process.
Ramco recognises the value of both its own employees and its contractors’ staff and considers their wellbeing to be a major factor in the success of all its business activities.
To deliver on these commitments and objectives, Ramco has a Corporate Management System in place to ensure that:

There is a health and safety management organisation in place to ensure that effective health and safety performance is achieved, and which results in all Ramco operated sites being safe places to work. - There is an effective environmental management organisation in place to ensure that operations have a minimal impact on the environmental by identifying and managing the relevant risks.
- The necessary training is provided for Ramco employees and contractors to ensure that the have the knowledge and capability to conduct operations in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner.
- When planning operations, environmental issues are considered from the outset with the objective to reducing waste, minimising the consumption of resources and preventing damage to wildlife habitats.
- Ramco’s contractors understand their responsibilities for ensuring safe and healthy work places.
- Adequate contingency plans are developed and implemented to manage any emergency that may arise in any of its operations.
- Appropriate and effective security is in place for Ramco and contractor personnel and for Company and Client assets at all operated locations and during travel to and from locations.
- Ramco complies with all local, national and international health and safety legislation, environmental regulations and codes of practice.
Ramco
provides the necessary resources, advice and guidance to ensure that the communications and implementation of its health, safety and environmental policies, and monitors and reports on the Company's safety and environmental performance to the Board.
Ramco reviews and audits all aspects of the management system to ensure that it is being complied with, and to seek improvements in the system. The system is actively developed in line with the development of Ramco’s business activities.
Although overall responsibility for health, safety and the environment rests with Ramco, every employee and contractor must recognise their own responsibilities (in particular, any specific responsibilities under legislation, or delegated to them as individuals) to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others.
